Terms of Use

These terms set the conditions for using Liberty Residents Directory. By using the service, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

1. What This Reference Is

Liberty Residents Directory is a privately operated reference for public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections connected with Liberty, Missouri. It may link to sources maintained by the City of Liberty, Clay County, the Clay County Recorder of Deeds, Missouri courts, archives, and other custodians. It does not host their government records and is not affiliated with any office, court, archive, or custodian.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use the service only for lawful purposes. You may not use it, or information found through it, to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm another person
  • Locate a person protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit fraud, identity theft, or another unlawful act
  • Make a decision regulated by the FCRA, including one involving credit, employment, tenant screening, or insurance
  • Scrape, copy, or systematically republish site content
  • Interfere with the service’s operation or security

3. Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Liberty Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Nothing published here, and nothing returned through a linked tool, is a consumer report. It may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.

4. External Services and Links

Government portals and outside services, including sponsored search tools, operate under their own terms and privacy practices. The Clay County Assessor, ClayDeeds, Missouri Case.net, Missouri voter lookup, and Missouri DHSS control their respective sites and records. We do not control an outside site’s content, availability, pricing, results, or handling of submitted information.

5. No Warranties

The service is offered “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that material will be accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, or available at a particular time. A source page, index, fee, form, access rule, or office practice can change, so confirm a record with the custodian that holds it.

6. Limits on Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages arising from use of this service or a linked resource. That includes loss or a decision made from a record, search result, link, or unavailable source.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold the service operators harmless from claims, demands, losses, and reasonable attorneys’ fees resulting from your misuse of the service or violation of these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The service’s original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. You may link to a page or quote a brief attributed excerpt. You may not republish full pages or systematically copy the service’s content without permission.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms by posting an updated version here. Continued use after an update means that you accept the revised terms.

10. Restricting Access

We may suspend, block, or limit access for a user who violates these terms or misuses the service. We may do so without notice and at our discretion.

11. Missouri Law

These terms are governed by Missouri law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Missouri’s Sunshine Law provides the public-records request process; RSMo §610.023 requires a timely agency response through access, delay explanation, or denial with its legal basis. Missouri’s limited breach-notification statute, RSMo §407.1500, requires notice without unreasonable delay for covered data breaches. It is not a general data-broker deletion statute.

12. Severability

If a provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.

13. Questions

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page.
